North of Sweden
The Swedish Lapland is the most northern area of the country, situated within the Arctic Circle and between the borders of Norway and Finland. We flew to Lulea in Norrbotten county and stayed overnight before embarking on a 4 ½ hour car journey to Kiruna, which is located close to Norwegian Lapland. In my opinion, this is so far the most beautiful part of Sweden with its magnificent mountain scenery and thousands of lakes surrounding the area. It is especially beautiful when it is covered with snow, which happens most time of the year. We were there at the end of April.
