Borough Market and The Shard

Right by London bridge in Southwark, you will find the famous wholesale and retail food market, Borough Market. It is the largest and oldest food markets in the city. It has existed since 1276, but it is also believed that it even existed as early as 1014.

Around the corner from Borough Market you will find The Shard, a 95-storey pyramid-shaped skyscraper built with Neo-futurism style, which was completed in 2012. It has an open-air public observation deck on 72nd floor called “The View from The Shard.” There is also the Shangri La Hotel, as well as several restaurants offering magnificent view of the city.
