Beaches in the Havana area

After a few days exploring the exciting city of Havana, what could be nicer then ending your visit with some relaxing time on the beach? And don’t worry about having to go on a lengthy journey to do this. There are at least five nice beaches near Havana if you would like to spend one or two days relaxing in the sun.

-        Santa Maria del Mar, a sandy beach located about 12 miles east of Havana, on the coast of Playas del Este.

-        Playa Boca Ciega, a slightly further distance from Havana, about 40 miles west, is another beautiful sandy beach that is less crowded.

-        Playa Guanabo, about 17 miles east of Havana (a little bit further than Santa Maria del Mar), this beach is situated near a rustic and charming village of Guanabo.

-        Other beaches: Playa Bucaranao (11 miles east of Havana) and Playa El Salado (21 miles west of Havana).
