Lincoln Memorial

This was built from 1914-1922 and is the national monument to honour the 16th President of the US. President Lincoln led the country through its Civil War in the mid 1800s, and was assassinated in April 1865. One of the most famous speeches that took place in front of this site is the one by Martin Luther King “I had a dream” speech.
