Washington Square, Greenwich Village, and Soho

These are areas in lower Manhattan, both on the west and east sides.  Greenwich village covers the area of New York University and stretches from Washington Square all the way to north of Houston Street. During summer time, Washington Square is very lively with a variety of performing artists, ranging from singers to piano players.

Life in Greenwich Village is combination of student to bohemian style living. You can find countless restaurants, bars, shops and jazz clubs. It is lively all the way down to the early hours.

South of Houston Street is the city’s famous area Soho. You can find countless art galleries, bookstores, shops and restaurants on many of its cobblestoned streets and large open-loft buildings. This is considered one of the most important art centre of the city.
