Pesalat Reforestation Project

Our last stop during this trip was to visit the Pesalat Reforestation Project inside the national park. This project focuses on the preservation and rehabilitation of tropical endemic rainforest and wildlife habitat.

We got the opportunity to plant our own individual tree, in order to help with re-growing the forest and preserve the orangutan population. Afterwards, you create your own name tag which is also planted next to your tree. One day when you come back, or in a few years, you can see if your tree has grown and become part of the area’s rainforest.

It is such a wonderful and heart-warming experience, knowing that you are in a small way trying to help the preservation of these beautiful creatures and the natural surroundings they live in.
