Faneuil Hall Marketplace, Quincy Market, and Custom House Tower

This area is open during the day, but it is in the evening that it becomes lively and fun. Faneuil Hall was built in 1742 and was originally used as a base by Sam Adams to begin his cause against the British. Today it fronts the market place of three refurbished 19th century buildings filled with shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. Not far away you can also see the Custom House Tower.

Right in the centre of this is Quincy Market, a colonial style building offering a smorgasbord of takeaway treats. This area is surrounded by push carts laden with handicrafts by local artists, street performers, pubs and nightclubs.

During the holiday season, this area becomes more alive and vibrant with their large and beautifully decorated Christmas tree.
