British Museum
The British Museum was established in 1753. Located in Great Russell Street, it is the most frequented museum in the country, covering an area of 75,000 m2 and hosting around 8 million objects in 94 galleries. This museum was established independently, freely opened to the public with an aim to collect almost everything. It is dedicated to human history, as well as art and culture, with the largest and most comprehensive collection of works in existence, originating from all continents, depicting and documenting the story of human culture from the beginning to present.
