Sydney Harbour Bridge

The Sydney Harbour Bridge began construction in 1923 and was completed and opened in 1932 It is a steel through arch bridge across Sydney Harbour and is 1,149 meters long and almost 50 meters wide.

This bridge carries rail, cars, bicycle and pedestrians and connects the city’s central business district and the North Shore. Its nickname is “The Coathanger” due to its arch-based design.
