Lisbon

I highly recommend that you enjoy the first two full days in Lisbon to visit the many beautiful and historic sites throughout the city, and leave the very last day to take a car journey to Sintra (28km from Lisbon) to see the castles, and possibly have a late lunch or early dinner in the stunning coastal town of Cascais (30 km from Lisbon).

The capital of Portugal is Lisbon, and with a population of 2,8 million people it is the largest city in the country and the 11th most populous urban city in the European Union. It is continental Europe’s westernmost capital city. Lisbon is an economic centre and a global city because of the its importance in finance, international trade, media, entertainment, arts, education and tourism, and has one of the oldest and largest port on the European continent. It is one of the oldest cities in the world, and is the oldest one in Western Europe. Due to its southern location, Lisbon enjoys a Mediterranean climate and has the warmest winters in any other metropolitan cities in Europe.
